Caroline first gained interest in the relevance of colour while completing a master’s degree in Photography. The degree included research into our personal involvement with woodland, alongside an investigation into the significance of colour and light levels, in terms of our moods and feelings.
This strong interest in colour has continued alongside self-
“When it was pointed out to me, by somebody involved with complimentary healing,
that my photography had therapeutic qualities, and would work well in healthcare
and similar establishments, it made complete sense. I felt that I had found a strong
pathway forward, and one that would allow me to bring positive thought and beauty
into the lives of others, by means of my photography. Shortly after this point I
completed and passed a diploma course in colour therapy, fine tuning my knowledge
and understanding of colour as a means of enhancing well-
Living on the edge of woodland, Caroline is able to build on the collection of images on a weekly basis, with the seasonal variations providing an endless arrangement of colours and shapes to choose from. Typically, Caroline’s photography uses soft focus techniques to draw the viewer’s attention towards the different colours. Subject matter ranges, but will generally include plants or trees used for healing purposes in times gone by.
“I work mostly by consultation, so that I can build up a clear understanding of what colours are going to be most suitable, alongside space and budget limitations.”
